Swim
Comments: Advertised as a 500m swim, it was more like 600m. Choppy. HORRIBLE swim. My 5th stroke I got a lungful (not a mouthful) of water. Could not breate had to flip on my back to catch my breath. The rest of the way I felt like I could only take 1/2 a breath. Also had a 20m slog through mud to get out of the water What would you do differently?: No breathe in water, find some feet to swim on Transition 1
Comments: Solid transition What would you do differently?: Can still do it faster Bike
Comments: Serious wind and rolling hills. 15mph wind with gusts to 30mph. Okay bike, I was still recovering from the lousy swim. Still got 13th fastest of day. Transition 2
Comments: Good. But I need to work on riding on my shoes and jumping off moving bike. Run
Comments: Windy with some hills. I was out of contention and was not in a good frame of mind. HR was only mid 150s while should have been high 160s+, but just couldn't get it there Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim, Head, not knowing the course Event comments: Well, I felt like it was a lousy race and still placed 25th. Great venue, great organization and I decided to see if I could do better the next day - race again! Last updated: 2006-06-14 12:00 AM
