Comments: The weeds threw me off. The lake was so cloudy, I couldn't see the racer next to me. Not sure I will be doing this race again because of the state of the lake. Transition 1
Comments: Included in the bike time. It was a 300m run from the beach to the transition through sand. I took my time as not to burn myself out. It was then a 200m run from the transition to the bike mount. Bike
Comments: It was a good course with new pavement. There weren't any hills that caused me great difficulty. Only 6 racers passed me and I passed 2. What would you do differently?: Bike Faster. Transition 2
Comments: Included in bike. Another 200m run from the dismount line. Run
Comments: I was not prepared for the x-country nature of the run. It was one hill after another after another. Only the final kilometer and half was flat. Overall, for the course that I faced, I was pleased run that I did. I did not walk on any part of the course and was able to sprint( for me) the last kilometer. What would you do differently?: Train more for hills. Post race
Warm down: Some snacks, showered and changed, then got everything back in the car for the 6 hour drive home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me Event comments: I probably won't do this race again due to the nature of the lake. Last updated: 2012-08-24 12:00 AM

I had a protein shake about an hour before the race.
I got to the site as one of the first competitors so I managed to snag a great spot for my bike.
A short swim in the very nasty
