Pre-race routine:

Met Andrew and McKenzie at the commuter lot at Neshaminy Mall at 5:05 a.m. "Why do we have to get there so early," Andrew commented out loud. I explained that it was because of the parking and rack situation. The racks are first-come, first-serve. I like the #1 rack next to bike out. We arrived in plenty of time and I got my desired spot. I didn't realize until later that I was racked next to Scoogie Snyder, Ross (AquaPhor guy) Reynolds, Midge Kerr, and a couple of other top finishers. One would wonder what I was doing on that rack. Scoogie looked at me and said "You're 58?, which sounded more like "You're 80!" to me. Did I ever feel old.
Event warmup:

We walked the quarter mile to the swim start, took off our sandals and threw them in the pile. I brought a bright pink ski wrap that I had in my exercise-stuff drawer. That was great for finding my sandals since everyone seemed to have the same pair that I did.
Swim
  • 08m 3s
  • 402 meters
  • 02m / 100 meters
Comments:

The swim was pretty uneventful and I felt good.
Transition 1
  • 01m 43s
Comments:

I decided to go sockless since they always get wet and I want to change them for the run.
Bike
  • 32m 8s
  • 11 miles
  • 20.54 mile/hr
Comments:

I'm pretty happy with my bike pace. I really pushed myself to stay ahead of Stacey since we started in the same wave. If she passed me on the bike, I would've had a heck of a time catching her on the run. I decided to take a GU for good measure.
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Put my socks on.
Run
  • 24m 30s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Not much to say about the run. It's out and back with a lot of turns.
Post race
Warm down:

The food was good afterwards. They had plenty of door prizes. I got a Road ID discount card for Michael.

My award was the $20 gift card and a ribbon that said Marlton Award Winner with a beer bottle opener on the end. Seriously????
