Comments: had to run the sand bars, a new experience! Was really out of breath when I dove back in. What would you do differently?: N/A this was a PR Transition 1
Comments: I have Mt Biking shoes, so I can run in transition with them. What would you do differently?: Practice transitions more during the off season. Faster than last year. Bike
Comments: Down hill speed is great, almost not fast enough! Up hill different story. What would you do differently?: Train more on hills! PR from last year by 5 minutes! Transition 2
Comments: Best transition spot I have ever had. Center alley, right by a big opening and a big tree. What would you do differently?: Run
Comments: First 2 miles were great! 7:44, 8:02, Heart rate was 171, so I didn't think I should run any faster! Passed the Iron Nun with 3.5 miles to go. What would you do differently?: Train a little more in the off season. whole race was a PR for me, 19 minutes faster than last year! Post race

Got up at 4:20, shaved head and chin. Drove to the Grocery to get bananas, powerbar and a muscle milk. Ate and apple on the way. Drove to Des Moines, sat in traffic waiting to park for 25 minutes.hurried to set up transition, no time to warm up.
Walking from the car to transition about 1/2 a mile.
