Go faster and stronger strokes

Comments:

Best transition in a long time
Bike

What would you do differently?:

Should have pushed harder going up south congress. Need to practice on long steep clumps and climbs w lower incline but long incline.
Transition 2
  • 02m 22s
Comments:

Best transition I've ever had. I flew thru it when I set my bike on the rack. Love the we triathlon shoes that are sock less.
Run
  • 31m 41s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

I bonked on the run. It was just too damn hot and was cramping like crazy. The humidity killed me and I should have drank more fluids. I was cramping really bad and couldn't get the knot out of my eft hamstring the entire run portion.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more fluids before the race and a banana as well could have helped
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The cramping in my hamstring on the run

Event comments:

Great course. One tough hill on the bike course, but other than that a fast course. I should have done a lot better, but the heat and humidity was tough on a west Texan kid like myself and caused me to cramp. Other than the higher than normal heat and humidity it was a great race.

The run is killer in the Texas heat/humidity.  Thank goodness Fall is almost here.  I think you could be closer to 1 hr 40 min, with a better run and shave time off of your transitions.

Kerrville Tri in a few weeks?
