Subject: appreciate feedback on bike position

Been improving times this season (25mph+) in last several sprint races but always looking to improve.  Not sure if my back position is low/straight enough.  Was fitted by a professional when I bought the bike (cervelo p4 54cm....I'm 5'11, 160). Appreciate any feedback regarding any ways might improve positioning..

This is interesting.

Anything we need to know about your lower back or leg injuries?

No, nothing to know.....never been injured.....no issues.  Was a major college varsity swimmer for four years.....just started biking and tri's in August 2011.  Bought the bike this past January.

There are a few things that I would suggest:

1) Turtle your head; looks better in second picture but in the first your head quite high.
2) If you are still wearing the LG, tip it back so that the tail is closer to your back (turtling will help with this also)
3) Roll your hips forward so your are sitting on the perinum, not your sit bones; this should flatten your chest a little more
4) I suspect that if you roll your hips forward, you can go lower in the front; while lower isn't always faster, I suspect it could be in this case

Thanks much.  The original lbs where I bought the bike and was fitted put two 5/16 spacers in.  Guess I could try taking one or both out.

gsmacleod's insights are excellent. I particularly agree with this one:

"3) Roll your hips forward so your are sitting on the perinum, not your sit bones; this should flatten your chest a little more."

Take a look at the rotational pelvic position of 2012 Ironman 70.3 World Champion Sebastian Kienle on his saddle:

I may have seen this pic before (or a couple others like this) which started me thinking I could improve my position.  Just wasn't sure how to go about it.  I'll use this to try and copy. Thanks again for the input.
