Dumb question about co2. I have 2 different co2 inflators and some time ago I had purchased a 24 pack of co2 at Walmart. When I went to use them with my Blackburn inflator it didn't seem to fit. I went to nashbar.com where I bought the
Inflator it seems like you need either a blackburn co2 or genuine innovation cartridge. Does this makes sense? Seems like they would be universal.
I did the same thing, thinking of course it would be cheaper to just buy generic CO2... I'm not sure which inflator you are talking about, but I dropped a dime in the bottom of mine and it made the cartridge that much higher to reach the inflator head... or maybe it was a penny? In any case, it worked!
Looks like that one needs the 16g threadless cartridge, and I' pretty sure all that Walmart carries are 12g.
You generally need 16g to get a road tire up to proper pressure anyway--according to the charts 12g only gets you to 90 psi and I think that's an ideal fill, usually you don't get all of that into the tire.
