Overall Rank = 432/660
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 61/67
Pre-race routine:

Woke Up early, Ate a Granola bar and drank some water. Popped two Salt tabs, and multivitamins.
Event warmup:

Walked around and Streched befor heading to swim start.
Swim
  • 37m 24s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Stopped 3 time to adjust Goggles. Within the first 100 meters, left goggle had filled with water, sam to shore, and tightened straps. I aparently got them to tight, because they felt like they were crushing my eye. stopped and treaded water to re adjust, then later grabbed a Yak to loosen the straps. Good from there on out.

What would you do differently?:

Make sure goggles are properly adjusted before the start!
Transition 1
  • 07m 46s
Comments:

Long run from Swim exit to transition, made for some sore feet. Kudos to Race managment for the carpet, and the decision to set up transition in the parking lot instead of the mud lot next to the swim.
What would you do differently?:

I took a long time to dry off my feet, since last race I had foot issues due to poor draining shoes. Same shoes for this race, so I spent the extra time with the towel. I think this cost me 3 or so minutes.
Bike
  • 00m
  • 24.85 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 1h 20m 22s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 12m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Run was painful. I was under prepared for the run after the swim.
I tried to drink Gatorade at the aide stations, an it apparently worked, no cramps this time, and was covered in salt when done.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Not having the bike leg really hurt me. I did not get that opportunity to collect my self after the swim, and hydrate.
Post race
Warm down:

Went and got som Food, and hydration.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. Life has gotten in the way of consistent training.

Event comments:

This race would get a 5, but the Bike was cancled. I know it was out of the hands of the race management and they cannot be faulted for the weather, but still is a bummer.
