Set Up Cup

The North Carolina series awards banquet is next Sunday.  Look for more information then.

I'll see what additional information I can get from Andrew this weekend at Pinehurst, too.

ETA: I posted before I read the article.  I first learned of the Set Up Cup at the White Lake International race.  I talked to Andrew and he said they were trying to get athletes to cross state lines to do different races.  You will have to do 5 designated races to qualify for the Set Up Cup.  Each series will only have 3 designated races, so athletes will have to race in multiple states (But, it may be possible for people to race only in NC if the schedule works out between the Inside Out sports Series and the Trysports series).

We will find out more details today at the IOS NCTS award banquet!!!!!!!

In the NC Triathlon Series, the qualifier races will be:

Azalea Sprint in Wilmington

White Lake Half (new date for 2013:  April 6!!!!!!)

Pinehurst International

Amazed that no one race is in Charlotte - every thing is east of Greensboro and in the lower part of the state.

They announced at the banquet that the Lake Hickory Tri has been added to the IOS calendar for 2013. They are also trying to add a half in the fall in Charlotte. Location and date have not been announced for this.

The 2013 calendar will be announced Nov 1.

Yes, Cane Creek is one of the Set Up Cup qualifier races in the TrySports Series.  The other races in that series are Granite Falls (99% sure on this one) and Kerr Lake (not so sure about this one).
