Subject: Funniest thing you have seen in a race...?

What is the funniest thing/event you have ever encountered in a race?

Personally, I saw some funny stuff this past weekend.

1.  Aero bars on a full-suspension mountain bike (20 mile ride...yeah, ouch).

2.  HOT pink speedo (on the same 20 mile ride) with matching bike helmet - on a guy.  No judgement though - he flew past me!  Pink must be fast!

I saw clipons aerobars on a mountain bike on Saturday.  I agree, that was a funny sight, but hey, he's racing, and that's awesome.  I also saw a family of skunks this weekend crossing the road together.  I had to swerve to avoid them and one of the baby skunks lifted his tail and aimed at me.  I don't know if he sprayed his scent, but I was definitely sprinting by them so as not to be hit.

Chatting with some other folks, we decided that I should put some $500 wheels on my $35 steel ten speed. That'd be a funny sight.

(I'm not really going to do it.)

I don't have any good tales of really funny stuff from races.

The one that always cracks me up is the bike helmet on backwards. You know, with the big bulge on the front. I have seen it many times.

Was in the kids tri after my race this weekend.

1.  One biker was going out, heading around the corner, another biker coming in didn't turn and ran right into his back tire.  He got right up and kept going.

2.  Same kids race, saw a kid do almost the entire race with no shoes, barefoot on the bike.  I say almost because i think he put them on for the run, but at the finish he had no shoes on and 1 in his hand.
