Pre-race routine:

This race is literally a mile or so away from my house. So I got there with plenty of time to spare. Ate a banana and drank some Gatorade perform. Normal bathroom routine.
Event warmup:

Just walked around. Talked to a neighbor. Waited in car until 10 minutes to race.

Comments:

With 49 people, this was by far my smallest race but it was the inaguaral so hopefully next year it will be bigger. As for the run, I was pretty slow from the get go. Looked at my watch and saw that I was around the 9 minute/mile pace. Yikes, so I picked it up. (Well as much as I could pick it up!) Then on the second mile I started feeling dizzy. This has been happening ever since I have been on the meds. Once I start exerting myself it gets worse. Shrink thinks it is high blood pressure. I'll be checking with my doctor soon. Anyway, the last mile was not pretty. I justed wanted to be done. Thank god for 5k's. Short and sweet.
What would you do differently?:

Figure out where this dizziness is coming from. Lose more weight!!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around the gymnasium. They had a pretty good set up. I was still a little dizzy and nauseaous so I ate a banana and bagel. Not sure if that helped but i am alive.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My weight, my lack of speed, the gods, my mind, etc.................

Event comments:

Hey it is a race near my house. Cheap and easy. Once I figure what is going on with this dizziness maybe I will do longer races.

Since my sponsor (NewSkin) has yet to deliver a race outfit, I did not hand out samples. I really don't want to do any colder races so I may just bail on them!

So I missed the podium by a good 2 1/2 minutes I am still happy. I probably won't get faster but hopefully not too much slower!
