only water yesterday and started a few crackers today.  trying to do Nuun also.  Race is Sunday. Assuming I can eat tomorrow, what should it be? I'm thinking I'm still good for the IM, that I have a couple days to get some crackers in my body (Friday, Saturday). So everything should be fine. Right?

Crappy timing.

BRAT is good, bananas rice, apples, toast.  Also gatorade.  Try to avoid foods harder to digest like oily/greasy foods or high fibre foods.

I had tummy troubles once a few days before a race, race day I was fine, granted it wasn't an IM.  I would also start taking something for the GI issues if you haven't already.

Yup, agree with the BRAT.  Rice cakes instead of rice would work as well (plain of course)

Unfortunately, I have personal experience with this.  Here's my IM MontTremblant report from this year:

You have a few days to recover.  Get some calories, get sleep, and dont stress about the race outcome (easier said than done ).  You might try some of the pro-biotic type pills to re-populate the intestinal flora -- they can take a big hit from GI illness.

During the race, focus on good execution, esp nutrition.

You'll have a great race!

Applesauce, not apples.

Same thing happened to me two years ago. In addition to the above advice I would also suggest that you try to hydrate as much as possible today. I ended up with tendonitis (adductor) likely because I was dehydrated from the stomach flu.

Good luck in your race.

I know this is a little late since the race is tomorrow but if you can get some IV fluids in you do it. Get hydrated.  I had a food poisoning last year before a HIM and ended up in the med tent because I couldnt get re-hydrated before the race. Never made it out of T2.

Good luck
