Trek riders - what's your bike computer of choice?  Do you use Bontrager?  Hubby just got a Madone and really wants to whole Bontrager sensor that fits into the frame, along with a computer but I'm not that impressed with what Bontrager has available.

Any help for those who have used Bontrager or would you recommend another brand?

The Bontrager cadence and speed sensor works with the Garmin.  I use it with my an old Edge 305.

I have a Bontrager Node 1.1 on my Speed Concept. It works fine for what I want which is speed and distance. I don't have the cadence sensor or heart rate monitor add-ons. I think I paid about $60.00 for it, so you could certainly pay more, but for what I want it does a good job.

Already mentioned above, but the Bontrager sensor pod that integrates into the frame uses ANT+ wireless communication.  That means it can "talk" to any Garmin or other computer unit that uses ANT+...this covers most of the big players.

I have a Bontrager sensor in the recessed pocket of my fork (Trek 2.1 roadie), and it works just fine with my Garmin 500.  And the grey Garmin color matches the grey trim on the Trek just right Cool.

As was already mentioned the build in speedo/cadence sensor is ANT+ so it will work with just about anything.  The real value of the built in one is the aero benefit you get versus having a third party sensor sticking out in the wind.  Now how much benifit?  No clue.

For the computer I'm just using a Bontrager Node 1 and it works great for me.  I have my GPS watch that also latches onto the speedo/cadence signal to get me all the fancy graphs that I never look at.

I use a Edge 705 on my Speed Concept 2.5.  All the features you would probably want / need and then some.

I bought a Madone 5.2 with an Edge 500. Great match!
