Subject: RE: Best Method for Following a Route While Cycling?mc_charles - 2012-12-17 9:20 PM I tried just memorizing my route once. I was on vacation in Utah last summer, but I'm not familiar with the roads at all. Being from Kansas and being relatively new to cycling, I wanted to ride a mountain pass. Tried to memorize the route to get myself into and up big cottonwood canyon in slc. Rode up, rode down. Had a blast. The next day, when I drove up with my family to hike in the canyon, I realized that I had actually ridden the wrong route (went up little cottonwood instead). So maybe stopping to check the phone map isn't such a bad idea..... Well, little cottonwood is actually the steeper of the two, so sometimes riding off course is better for you Edited by JZig 2012-12-18 8:03 PM
