But dammit if the guy wasn't a great salesman and I picked up the 6300 instead for $499. Normally I would have never done that, but I got my bonus from work and it was about $500 more than I expected, so I consider it just part of my bonus lol. I've made 2 smoothies so far, and can't wait to try all the awesome things you can do with this thing! I would have fallen for the sales pitch too! Luckily there was no show at my costco this weekend so I quietly picked up the 5200  I used the "unexpected bonus" as my justification for finally making the purchase as well (I've been thinking about it for years now). The smoothies are so much better and I made my own coconut milk to use as the base. I have a long list of things to make in it but no time yet! I stocked up while in costco on stuff like the pre-cut butternut squash so I can make and freeze soup. As for it vibrating, mine seems too also. I'm a bit scared of it still, it's so powerful so I normally hold it in the place (hand on the top) when it runs, so mine hasn't actually had the chance to move anywhere. I'm probably just paranoid, but better safe then sorry, right? |

I originally bought a Ninja too because it seemed like a good blender, and it was decent for just fruit smoothies, but it's when I added greens that I got the big chunks left in it. I switched to a Vitamix 5200 and haven't looked back. Mine shakes the counter too, that's normal. It has a 2 HP motor which is pretty damn powerful for a blender. For anyone on the fence about a Vitamix, I found this review here of the 5200 which goes into detail about all the features of it. I'd certainly recommend it though - it's worth the money. |

Does your blender actually move? My blender starts moving a few inches and spins while mixing. It was pretty weird. Actually thought about buying some rubber stoppers on the bottom so that it creats more friction so it won't move. |

Veteran 311 Irvine, California | Subject: RE: Vitamix Ok I figured out the problem...I didn't realize there was a notch in the bottom of the base to feed the power cord through, so it was just going under the base which was BARELY lifting it. Problem solved after feeling kinda stupid lol but made a shake today and it was perfect |

Until now I've done nothing but make basic smoothies in a blender so this is all new to me. I've already been using mine for all my chopping (who knew?). Set it on 2 or 3 and I've chopped onions, bell peppers and even a head of cauliflower to make cauli-rice last night! Today I'm making butternut squash sage soup. I've made it in my ninja but it was slightly chunky. I'm excited to try the Vitamix version |

The shape of the bowl is different so nothing gets clustered up and requires stopping and stirring. The price is comparable. Check it out before you buy. Im shopping too. I have compared the Vitamix, the Blendtec and the Nutra Bullet. I found this youtube video doing a comparison of the Vitamix & the NutraBullet. One thing to consider the Vitamix has a 7 year warranty, the Blendtec's warranty is 3 years. Even the reconditioned Vitamix (which is $329) has a 5 year warranty. So of those two I would go with the Vitamix. However, money is an issue for me (since I have just gotten into three sports ) and smoothys are my main interest, so I will probably go with the NutraBullet for now.

That being said, I don't regret it one tiny bit. I use it almost every day, oftentimes a few times a day. I say go for it! I have the Ninja and did my own soup comparison. Same recipe, the Ninja made a very good butternut squash soup. Made it again in the vitamix and WOW, it's like a butternut soup flavored cloud. It was so light and fluffy and amazing. I've also been making my husband a smoothie daily for his afternoon work snack. I put chia seeds in it. He said the difference with the Vitamix is ridiculous. It shreds the chia better then the Ninja and makes the smoothie much smoother. We seriously don't regret the purchase at all. |
