Anyone have/use these? At 45 lumens, doesn't seem like they'd be powerful enough, but am curious what your actual experience has been. I like the idea as opposed to a headlamp or flashlight.

I use them and like them. They are comfortable and when you use them as a pair they cast a pretty consistant circle of light right in front of you.  You can see a few stride lengths in front of you no problem.  I really like that you can shine the beams independently and easily in any direction without having to move you head.  You can point them to the side to make sure traffic knows you are crossing an intersection or into the woods to see how big that bear is without taking your eye off the trail.  Only caution is to make sure you have fresh batteries.  I'd buy them again.

I've used them in conjunction with a head lamp and thought they worked pretty well to light up the sides of the trail.   But I'm not sure if they are bright enough to use on their own without a headlamp, at least not on a trail.

I'm thinking about getting one of those lamps that sits on your chest and use that along with a headlamp.  I've seen a bunch of guys with that set up that seem to like it.

GBL and dj - thanks for the feedback.

Regarding the chest set-up, is there a product that's a standalone unit or are you referring to just attaching a lamp to the shoulder straps of a pack?

I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised- found them to be comfortable enough to forget they are there- enough light to keep you out of holes and avoid sticks & roots battery lasts reasonably long..and the light is even- not jumpy as have had with head or other hand held lights..use them regularly on dark country roads & bike path-that being said do not do late night trail runs as of yet so can't speak to that!

I believe it's a standalone unit.  I've seen them in a few stores, but can't remember a particular brand off the top of my head.

I have had a set for over a year and LOVE them...for the road.  I used them once on the trails and night and found them lacking a bit, but that was also my first time running at night on the trails (with a light Laughing)
