Diagnosed with Strep on Friday. Took first dose of Zithromax Friday night, 2nd dose Sat afternoon, 3rd dose Sunday morning.
Stayed hydrated and fed, and 'went real easy', but effort and sickness caught up to me in Moreno Valley and despite finally trying a Red Bull at East Moreno Ranch I really suffered up Bobcat and back into Red River.
Was toasted all evening, stopping to rest on benches just walking to and from dinner.
But I did it, and am happy to have completed the ride. Look forward to trying again next year.
Weather was just about perfect, and other riders and aid station folks were great company and support.
Despite my own hardship it was great to be out there with the other riders, pooling our collective efforts to finish this 'Lifetime achievement endurance event'.
