Subject: What Tires are you using?

I submitted a thread regarding new tires in the general forum, but many of them used the generic "heavier rider" definition meaning 185lbs+

I'm up for some new tires.  The continental GP4000s were a very popular response in the main forum, but they recommended the 23cm versions if I weigh more than 185.  That makes me concerned as I weigh a good deal more than 185.

SO what are you riding?

I've been riding Conti 4000s (22mm) for years (tubular) and haven't had any issues other than those that NO tire would have solved.  I'm "significantly" above 185 as well.

Continental Grand Prix 4000s 25c  -- these are for training and racing; I weigh in at around 240.

I didn't even realize they had a 25c version.  Might check that out.

I assume you like them and consider them to be both durable and fast-ish?

Keeping in mind these are on a road bike (Felt Z85), I do like them a lot.  I went from the 23's that came with the bike, and on the 25's I can use less air pressure so the ride is noticeably more comfortable while still at least as fast.  And fewer flats.
