ATTENTION!

There, did that get your attention?  Just an FYI, if you're thinking of doing the Dopey next year registration opened today and it's 76% full already.  The 10k race (if you're not doing the Dopey) is sold out.

Im registered for Dopey Laughing

Would not have called the 10k to be the first thing to sell out.  But I guess the participant limit is lower for the 5 & 10k.

Thought I had Disney crossed off my list after I did Goofy + the 5K. Looks like I will be heading back again, maybe in 2015.

I'm not surprised at how quick it's filling.  We did the Goofy last year, and one of the things that really stuck with me was how much attention was being given to the select few that have done all 20 marathons, or all 8 Goofy's.  I guess I'm not the only one who walked away last year wishing I had been on the bandwagon at the first marathon or Goofy challenge.  Starting this coming year I'll get to say I've done every Dopey challenge.  This carries over to other races as well, there's two others that I've done "every year" so now I have more motivation to keep going on those as well.

Having done the unofficial Dopey 2 years in a row, (5k on Friday followed by the Goofy) getting up that early is a pain.  Just kind of ruins the rest of the trip.  That is the downside to this, since you are racing every day you really don't enjoy the parks like you could.

Nice way for Disney to get more hotel nights.  You'd need to be there on Wednesday and stay 5 nights.  I don't even want to try and figure out the cost per mile

enjoy,

Duane

Ha...I think I might win.It is on my Definitly Must Do list...hopefully for 2016. And I will be travelling from Australia for it. In our peak travel period so the airfares will be astronomical. But I did the marathon in 2005 and had a blast so it's a not negotiable for me. Can't wait but the bank balance ensure I must..sigh.

I am not surprised at all. It's the first year for the race, and he Disney medal collecting bug bites hard. People want that first year medal. Also, a 10k is walkable by a vasy majority of people, especially the ines who were thinking about a half but were not sure yet. This far out, nearly anyone can set a goal of just finishing a 10k, and the medal is real metal, not the vinyl used for the kids runs and the 5k.
