Subject: Timex Run Trainer GPS watch wont find satellites

The watch has been working perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. now it either wont find satellites at all, takes forever and then drops the signal almost immerdiately, or locates just 3/4 staellites and not waht seems to be the requisite 6 signals. of course, it is recently out of warrenty so it will cost me $$ just to send it back for them to look at it. anyone else experienced problems or have solutions??

Does it have the latest firmware? If it does try reinstalling the firmware.

Also I would call customer support. I have nothing but good things to say about timex's support. They sent me a new heart rate transmitter no questions asked.

Mine has done that sort of thing since the day I got it.  If I set it down on my car, or other non moving object, it will lock on almost instantly.  Never loses signal once I put it on.  Of course I have had similar issues with Nike and Garmin.

Hey darrel how about let everyone else in on to make work better. I have had mine for two years and even with uploads still has issues finding sats. I have had it take a full run and never acquired even though says it has multiple sats just does not acquire. I have had good luck with it keeping a good signal once it locks. Nice to hear other brands do same thing

I reinstalled firmware and still have the same issue. Have contacted Darryl and will update here as I hopefully get a solution.

darryl called and i spoke with him. he is sending a prepaid mailer for me to send it back and then it will be repaired. no charge. excellent customer service which needs to be commended.nice to write something positive about a company! thanks.

Subject: UPDATE!!! Timex Run Trainer GPS watch wont find satellites

just wanted to take a minute to update. having heard from Daryl on april 4th, i received a free mailing envelope to send my watch in. sent it in and then waited till last friday to reach out for an update. daryl promptly answered me and provided a UPS tracking number. today when i got home from work was the delivery - a brand new timex ironman run trainer to replace my out of warrenty watch that stopped working.

i am very impressed with the whole process, that daryl reached out to me after i posted on this forum, and that they worked with me to replace the item.

I have a Timex global trainer that I love dearly albeit it takes 5 minutes to find GPS signal in my area and I've also got a Timex 100-lap watch I use for swimming. I emailed them about a TGT 2.0 but they replied that there are no plans for a second generation, bummer. I'm sure when mine dies I'll move on to the run trainer. Glad to hear about the customer support though, I'll stick with Timex!
