So who's in?  This is my first time for Black Bear, also been a couple years since an Oly length race, last year I did sprints and 70.3.

I've been looking for info on bike course elevation gain, can't find any.

Anyone have any GPS files?

I mapped it, it appears to be a little short. I get 23.33 miles on Mapmyride, it's listed on the website as 24. I'm going to do the Half course next.

I've done this race twice, but never wore a GPS during it. As far as what to expect, I can tell you that the bike is challenging enough that I averaged 4 mph slower here last year than Nations Tri and about 2 1/2 mph slower than Musselman HIM only 1 month after Black Bear.

OK, it looks like we need to be "friends".  Actually I think you know a friend of mine at work, in PTC, Lisa K?  She has a Felt, went to Vegas last year.

I mapped the Oly course as well this weekend, while procrastinating getting on the bike.

Black Bear Oly Garmin Course

Garmin connect doesn't seem to calculate vertical gain though.

I believe I do. Quite well. She was at my house Sunday for a BBQ. So what's PTC?

I cant wait to get this race started. I have been doing the sprint for a number of years and it finally works in my schedule to do the olympic. The course is challenging. Pretty relentless if you ask me. The lake is crystal clear which is great way to start off possibly your first open water swim of the year. If you are strong on the bike you will be fine. Just remember that the last climb is the steepest! The run is great, crushed gravel and clay and lots of shade. See you out there!

I am gonna get crushed

Guess it's time to start biking seriously, huh? Actually I've been on a swim/run focus, and now that the marathon is over time to switch to the bike. I do not take it as a good sign when my coach tells me it will be good to get my a** kicked on the bike at BB so I have some motivation for Lake Placid. I pay for this??

She's great. We make a good team, and the club is doing pretty well.

So a little bit of hope, I did 117 miles of riding this week, and today's ride had 3154 feet of climb.
