Pre-race routine:

Got up had my blueberry muffin and relaxed before heading to Wash Park. Got to the park and registered, then had a slow jog back to the car.
Event warmup:

Ran back to the car and then just waited for the start.

Comments:

I ran pretty hard. With about 1/3 of a mile left, I really tried to pick up the pace. I wanted to break 24 minutes and realized there wasn't much chance of that happening. I did run hard for the whole race though, so I can't complain. with about 100 yards left, I tried to sprint to the finish. This worked well until I totally ran out of energy with about 25 yards to go. Never had this happen, but I just couldn't push anymore. I guess I pushed it to early for my sprint. Hmmmmm.
What would you do differently?:

Wait on the sprint??? Felt like a good run, so I am happy even though I didn't meet my goal.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of energy.

Event comments:

This was a good event for a good cause. They were well organized, and I am always willing to race for a good cause, so I will probably be back next year. :)

Course: Pretty flat course of 1.5 laps around the park. This is a fairly normal/ well know course. I actually don't like this course that much because it is so boring. It's really hard to find those spots where you can really push.
