Veteran 148 | Subject: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club Come join CTC on August 17, 2013 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, OH for a fun day of swimming, riding and getting prepped for Rev3 Full and Half Distance Triathlon! If you are prepping for Rev3, or any other upcoming races, come and be a part of this awesome day! We will start the day with an open water swim clinic hosted by Liquid Lifestyle Swimming. An A, B, C group ride will follow with a choice of 56 or 100 miles. The ride will take place on much of the actual Rev3 course. The C group is a "no drop" ride. We will have an aid station set up with additional nutrition, snacks and water but be prepared with your own supplies as well. There will be a short run course for all who need to brick after a great ride. We will host a Q and A session with Rev3 RD Eric Opdyke on hand to answer any questions you might have about the Rev3 events. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you will be attending! This is critical for us to make sure we get enough Fig Newtons at the Aid Station! Schedule of Events: 7:00-7:30 Register 8:00- 8:45 Open Water Swim Clinic hosted by Liquid Lifestyle 9:15- 3:00 56 or 100 mile Group Ride with A (23+ mph), B (18-22 mph) and C (16-18 mph, no drop) groups 2:00-4:00 Q and A in Black Bear Saloon This event is FREE!!!! Member 75 Olmsted Twp, OH | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club I did this last year and highly recommend it to anyone who is going to be doing Rev3, especially first timers! It was instrumental in knowing where some of the challenging parts of the bike course are so that you can plan your race strategy. Unfortunately, can't make it to this year's preview day though |

Elite 5145 Cleveland | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club I have no idea on the numbers, but I'm in for the Half this year, and I'm really looking forward to this preview day. If nothing else, a really long training day is just what I need to get my butt in gear.

Extreme Veteran 1123 Sidney, Ohio | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club I am in for the half so this training day looks appealing. Especially since I have never swam in Lake Erie, this is making me nervous on its own accord. Is there a drop dead date on when I can RSVP for this? I am on vacation the weak prior in michigan and hope to becoming through at this time, but not 100% sure. Edited by mambos 2013-08-08 12:55 PM |

Veteran 239 | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club I hope there will be pre-run of the course this year 2014 too. Maybe it is too early to talk about it. But, I was looking for 2013 REV3 race reports and cannot find them. Is anybody did REV3 full distance in 2013 and wrote a good detailed report about it? I'd like to read it. Thanks! |

There are some race reports from 2013 under Full Rev race link. |

Veteran 239 | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club Great, I have found the race reports, not sure I like half mile run after the swim Will wait for CTC to run the route, but if it is not, I am going there by myself whenever my schedule and training plan allow it. This is my first IM, I feel nervous and want to be fully prepared. |

Extreme Veteran 1123 Sidney, Ohio | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club I did the half and thought it was a great race, will be a good venue to do a full also. As for the 1/2 mile run after the swim, that was only due to bad weather that forced the swim to a different location that was more protected from Lake Erie. Under normal circumstances you exit water run across the beach and directly into T1. Maybe 100yds and that is probably long.Enjoy your race! |

This is my first IM, I feel nervous and want to be fully prepared. I think it's perfect for a first IM experience. Lake Erie can be rough, but it was clear and calm when I did the Half Rev. You do 2 loops around buoys. I think they changed the swim course in 2013 because of a storm the day before, but under normal circumstances the run to transition is nothing (like 1 minute). Bike course is pretty flat but can be super windy. There is one "hill" but it's nothing really. I've done some crazy hilly courses so this is a pancake IMO. Run course is mostly flat, too. It's 2 loops. |

CTC only does the bike route, not the run. There is really nothing special about the run: you exit Cedar Point, run through a park, and then the rest is running up and down the streets through the city before heading back to Cedar Point. For the 140.6 - 2 loops of this. |

Veteran 239 | Subject: RE: Rev3 Cedar Point Preview Day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club Thanks, I really do not need the run course preview. it does not matter if I am not familiar with it beforehand. But the bike course is different. It is always good to know bad pavement spots, uphills, sharp turns etc. |
