Run
Comments: I was able to immediately find my pace based on perceived effort. This race was going to require at least 7 additional minutes over what I had done in training so I did not push any harder than my training pace. This proved to work well as I was able to finish my first 5k with zero walking. I had 2 goals, run the whole thing and finish. Goals accomplished. I have never been a runner and last year I was over 300 pounds. I was 254 pounds for this race and felt so good crossing the finish line reflecting on what all I have accomplished. The best part is this is just the beginning. What would you do differently?: Nothing. However, this completed my C25K app and I will be looking for a 10K training plan. I will continue to train and try to better my time. Post race
Warm down: Just walked and drank some water What limited your ability to perform faster: New runner, only been running for 9 weeks. Still losing weight. Last updated: 2013-09-05 12:00 AM

This was my first ever 5k so not sure I have a routine. I did eat half a cliff bar and drank some Gatorade G2 along with some water.
Did a couple of loops around the pond at the location and did some light stretches after I warmed up.
