I've been away way too long... this is my first post in A LONG TIME. I think i got sucked into a black hole.

anyways, i want to slowly get back into the gear of things, and am looking for a fluid bike trainer to start putting any of my two bikes back in use. [The spiders will be disappointed]

my question, WHERE can i look besides ebay [it scares me still]... any ideas. i live in illinois.

I'll appreciate any thoughts or ideas or even good offers from honest triathletes.

thanks again,

Milly

PS- RON, wow this site looks awesome, congratulations.

I'd check Craigslist if you're not a big eBay fan, or the classified section here.

I bought a CycleOps trainer on eBay w/o any problems. I do understand there are some shading dealings there, though.

I have a brand new, still in the box, Cycleops Fluid  trainer. I will sell it to you for a 200 dollar donation to my TNT fundraising, s&h included. You'll also then get to deduct that donation!  woo woo!

Better check with your CPA on deductibility. It's my understanding that only the amount you pay over fair market value is tax deductible as a donation. Not that you would get audited over $200, but still...

hmmm. But if she donates 200 bucks to my cause, and I send a trainer as a thank you gift?  what then?

You both end up in Levinworth. Wink

It's also my experience that the IRS takes  a harder stance on someone intentionally attempting to circumvent the laws than someone who accidentally does it out of ignorance.

I doubt you could decipher his answer. Plus you'd have to put up with him hitting on you, wielding that Kinko's managerial power, and all that.

Congratulations on training with TNT, I have trained with them before for what used to be the Mrs. T's Chicago triathlon, now the Chicago or is it Accenture, not too sure. Anyways, it's a great cause you're doing!

The trainer, I have a newly acquired mortgage, so I am a bit more on the price concious side... if you get any other takers for that, by all means go ahead [I'm torn though because having gone through TNT and fundraising, i am completly empathetic towards the cause].

I'll try to get back to you with a decision as soon as possible. Thanks again to all those who replied...

GO TEAM!

Hey possum.... I might be interested in the trainer in return for a donation.  Quick question... will the trainer adjust to 650 wheels?  Does it need a new "part" thing to get the flywheel to go up to 650 wheels?  Just curious.  I will more or less just use the trainer with my road bike which has 700s, but if may want to put the tri bike on every now and then.  Thanks so much!!  If it's already sold or accounted for, don't worry about it.
