The Emails went out! (the list is not up as I am posting this)

I got in!! This will be the second Escape From Alcatraz for me. Looking forward to it. I hope to do much better than 4 years ago when my wife saw me in T2 and didn't think i would finish the run. I see lots of hill repeats in my future.

Now just waiting for the wife to get to work and check her email to see if she got in! She said she would never do this race and then signed up for the lottery before me this year!

Who else is in?

I'm in. I'm pretty sure if I could do cartwheels I would have been doing them this morning. I'm so excited.

I'm not sure if the switchbacks are steep enough, Chris. I may have to actually ride up Crest finally!
My wife didn't make it in, but she is hoping (sort of) for the second round.

Crest isn't any steeper.   May have to ride Monero Drive....

Count me in!!! Just happened to see the website a few weeks ago and thought I'd at least try the lottery. I didn't actually think I'd get in. Anyone have suggestions for hotels or a discount code for registration? Good luck to everyone.

In for my 3rd Escape (from my medical deferral from last year).

If you plan on renting a bike instead of shipping/transporting yours, I suggest doing so sooner rather than later. They go fast! http://www.escapefromalcatraztriathlon.com/Race_Info/Bike_Rental.ht...

There are no promo codes for the race. It's $400 firm.

In addition to writing your race number on each upper arm, they also wrote your age on your calf. This allowed me to see who was passing me by in the bike section of this race.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

I signed up for a Sprint in July, an Olympic distance in September, and the Alcatraz tri in October. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it all the way.
