Just looking for motivation for next year....Suffered a concussion last week and my neurologist wants me to sit things out. I am allowed to do little biking and swimming (very slow and short).

Will look to come back strong next year....

sorry to hear about the set-back. Important to take care of that noggin though! Stay positive and you'll be ready for next season.

I have totally lived through your pain. Don't push your recovery, it will just take longer.

 Hang tough...there's always next year!

not allowed to do anything that would increase brain pressure. as I understood the doctor no lifting either...have PT for neck and shoulder issues resulting from injury, will talk with them about weights,

Sorry to hear it.  My advice is stay active in the tri community, join a club, volunteer at races, anything to keep tri in your blood so you don't get emotionally flat and lose your drive.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you need to have BEEN SOMEWHERE first to 'come back' from something?

Anyway. Listen to the doctor and best of luck!

Consider it a long building session!!  You'll come back stronger than ever.  Look out next year's races.

I'm right there with you. My season ended before it even started this year. I had a hard fall on a run in March and messed up my left shoulder. The doctor doesn't think anything is torn but because I had rotator cuff surgery on it 21 years ago he thinks that my recovery time from this fall is extended. It still hurts slightly but I would rather take the summer off and recover than never race again.

Take care of yourself and take the advice of those who advised not to hurry your recovery. I lost a season and a half due to not listening to the doctor the first time.

    Have an uneventful recovery.

I too had an injury (jet skiing accident over the 4th of July) that has put a damper on my season.  I had to sit out a few weeks of training and miss one race, and it sucks!!  Although, like it was previously suggested...go to the races and volunteer when you can...it has help keep me motivated and hungry for my next race

best wishes for a speedy and full recovery
