What's a Good Triathlon to do in NC

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions because I'm not from NC. However, I have family in Charlotte so I did the Over the Mountain tri in June (also through set-up inc) as part of the NC tri series. It was very well organized and run so hopefully the others in series will be as well.

I'll be looking to do either the same tri or a different one next year. Let me know what you settle on if you would. I'd like to hear how it goes for you and what you think of the race.

Every event put on by Set-Up Inc is top notch, so just pick a distance and date. The Pinehurst one is wetsuit legal!

I totally agree.

Set-upinc.com has a beginner series called "Endurance Development Series"...check it out. The NC Triathlon Series has many great races also that are your average Sprint and Olympic distance events. I will be doing Wilmington and Pinehurst to finish out my season. What is your level and what town are you in? The UNC Wellness Tri in August is very popular for first-timers, it is a bit shorter than a sprint. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the info you all have provided. I am in Greensboro, NC. I have been doing Tri's for almost 4 years. I have completed Sprint and International Distances. I Swim a lot and always fit in my bikes and runs for the week. I am going to sign up for the Wilmington and I think the Pinehurst Tri. They are both not to far in distance for me to get to.
I just moved here from FL last Nov. and I really miss the beach. So the Wilmington is a must. I have never swam in a channel but use to swim a few miles every Sat. Morning in the beach with a group.
Where are you in NC? Do you have any spots where you can train for all three sports outside?
