I am thinking of doing this race next October. The website is pretty vague on where to stay or if camping is avaliable. Do any of you have any details about the race, lodging, etc? I will be driving up Friday morning from north of Houston (conroe area) and I am trying to decided if this would be a good race for me.

I have not been to or competed in this race...but I did look it up - in the event I knew anything about the area...this may be a dumb question...but did you check under Runner Information Packet on the website? I clicked on it...and found a lodging link...listed the campgrounds and nearby hotels/motels (although most of them seemed "not so nearby"). I have some training friends that have done this I can ask what their impressions were...
