I will be competing in my first triathlon this September 12th. Ok, I did a few when I was a cross-country/track stud in high school, but that was ages ago. For all intensive purposes, this is going to be my first tri. I am competing in this one specifically to raise money for ovarian cancer research. My mom did the San Diego leg last year as one of our family members died from this disease 3 years ago. So I guess this will be somewhat of a family tradition. Last year we raised over $3500!! Wish me luck!

And, if anyone is interesting in helping me out, you can visit my fundraising webpage, http://www.active.com/donate/ocrf/jazzy.

Training is going great, I forgot what it's like to be in great shape!!! Anyone else going to be at this race??

Sounds like a great idea. It would probably help settle some nerves as well! Good luck with training until then!

I am getting so excited. Have you been to the lake? Is it clear or tea water, or???

I did a swim a while ago there. The water isn't too bad, but not too great, either. I'd say a light tea. :-) There is a bit of plant life there, so don't be too startled! But it's a nice, small, calm lake and should be a great venue for the swim!!

Looks like we might get a touch of rain and cooler temps, which is too bad. But hopefully they skies will open up to a nice day!
