I'm not even certain I can do the tri I'm looking at, but I am really pumped up for it and really hope I can give it a go. I can't believe how excited/nervous I've been getting reading the posts and rundowns of the races. It's as if I've got one tomorrow!

I've slowly started training, but have much work to do and really need to dedicate myself to this. Especially the swim. I swam competitively until I was 18, but have barely done any since! I'm hoping it won't take too long to come back to me.

Anyway, just want to thank everyone for such great support (even though not directly). I just found the site last week and I am truly inspired.

THANKS TO EVERYONE HERE!

I'm sure you will do great. The most important thing is that you tried and you have fun.
What is the distance of your race?
Good luck with your training and racing
Take care

It's the Make a Wish Triathlon in Bethany Beach. 1.5 k, 36 k, 10 k. A friend talked to me about it and I've been researching triathlons since! Now I'm trying to convince my wife to let me spend 1200 on a bike!

i too swam competatively all through out my h.s. career etc and quit in college. Whenever i get in teh tri mode adn start doin laps that first week back sucks! I usually end up doin my old warmups as my workout. Thank god we dont have to log 10000 yards anymore I guess i usually just take it slow adn concentrate on form and getting my breathing and balance back. I like doing pull sets since i always had a weak kick ( distance swimmer! ) and like to pump the arms since they 're useless on the bike and run might as well get some use outta em.

overall it comes back pretty fast though. also i hardly ever log 4k+ yards anymore though cuz i have flashbacks after an hour and freak out! gl!
