Pre-race routine:

Got there about 30 minutes before "race time". I stretched. I had had nothing to eat or drink. Not smart. This was a last minute race
Event warmup:

Stretched and then three colored dye up in the air.

Comments:

I was beat. Plus running on thick grass is not me thing. But it was a fun race and for a good cause.
What would you do differently?:

Bring a water bottle.

Warm down:

Drank some Kool Aid, gave a bad interview to the local newspaper and then walked to the car

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The 10k the day before.

Event comments:

This was a night before decision and the funny part is that this was a event mainly for high school kids but what the hell. I was pummeled with color chalk and got a good workout. The money raised goes to a clean water initiative in Malawi. My school (30 years ago) never did stuff like this. So maybe I was only 1 of 10 adults there it still was worth it!!!!!
