Well I am fat this year but hey still racing. I hoping that the fat problem will be over by next season. Only going to do 1 more race this year and I am done I think for races. Maybe one in September but doubt it.

I lost my wetsuit at my last race. Either fell out of my bag on the way home or someone took it. I am so hoping the earlier part.

The race will be cold but it is a sprint so I not sure if it would be dangerous. While wetsuit would be nice I ma worried that rented one would not fit since the one I had that barely fit is not made anymore.

Buying would be nice but if I get down to my ideal weight it might be too big and I rather not spend $200 to $300 on just one race.

Bummer on losing your wetsuit.

Unless the water is super cold I would go without for just one race figuring I am not going to be in the water that long for a sprint, but I deal well with cold water. Are you hoping to lose enough that it will affect the wetsuit sizing? I know Xterra told me a pretty big weight range on my suit when I bought it.

well I like to get to 250 which is most of the suits minimum weight. Trouble is that is 80 lbs from now and I am worried while the suit might barely fit now maybe it would get stretched out.

I think you might be right. my first tri I did in really cold water and I survived the 50 min swim. Then did not even know how to swim really.

How long is the race? If its a sprint and in the position you are in I would def just do without with plans on getting one next season

I'd say go without as well. Your time in water should be relatively short. Then again I'm very col tolerant as well.

as of today they are talking 63 degrees. Too cold to go without a wetsuit for a sprint?

You can rent one from F2R (fit 2 race) that will fit. I'm 5'11" at 310 pounds and I got both a full sleeve and a sleeveless from them.
Like I said, you can rent one and then if you like the suit you just keep it and they bill your CC. Or send it back and only be charged the rental.

If you must have one, I'd rent. Then look for specials during the off-season. My last swim was 68deg and I found it pleasantly warm... I can only speak for myself when I say no suit and use the cooler water to push harder. Then again, I wear shorts to 40deg, so...

63 is too cold for me. I'd rent one. Wetsuitrental.com also has good deals.

My mantra has become, if it's legal, then wear it. I'm faster with it on and I expend less energy. Win/win for me.

I have a local store looking to get me one. Its a Zoot suppose to fit to 255 lbs so maybe I can squeeze into it. Since I need it by Saturday I need to do something fast.

Well I said that I was not going to do it this season, but I cracked. I broke down and bought a new bike. I went out and bought a shiny new Cannondale road bike.
