Subject: OWS in Mont-Tremblant?
I will be in Mont-Tremblant vacationing next week and was hoping to get in a few OWS workouts while I'm there. It looks like I could access Lac Tremblant from the Beach and Tennis Club, but it's hard to tell if I can actually swim or if it's more recreational. Anyone know for sure?

Very late response but if you go back to Mont-Tremblant, look for "Parc du Mont-Tremblant" which is a national park. There are no motorized boats there and the lakes distances are calculated in Kilometers so you will not have issues finding a quiet spot. You will probably not be watched neither so make sure you take the necessary safety precautions. The principle here is quite simple, nobody will prevent you from getting outside the beach areas but you have to assume your own safety.

There is a small fee to access the park, less then 10$.

On the way to Mont Tremblant, on the highway 15, there is another village named Ste-Adele where a lot of people practice open water swimming. Calm, roughly 1km diameter. Big enough so you are not bothered but also small enough you can see your whole surroundings and feel a bit safer. This is where I go when I acompany people for the first time. The lake name is "Lac rond".

If other people see this post, I would be curious to know about other good OWS places in the Laurentians.

Update to Open Water Swimming in Tremblant.

You can now swim in Lac Tremblant in season, accessing the lake from the beach and tennis club. There is an area set up just for open water swimming 2.4 miles long that runs along the shore line and is buoyed off from boat traffic.

If you are registered for any of the triathlon events in Tremblant, access is free otherwise a small fee ($5.00 I think).

Stroke after stroke, my pace was pulling me out into the middle of the lake quickly. The cover seemed to be getting thicker. But still in the distance, the little boathouse was my lighthouse.

Some are getting a little OWS practice in, others are strategizing, the rest are just plain scared.
