Subject: RE: Salting Like a Madman Welcome to my world. I happen to sweat a lot, and I usually have the white stuff on my clothes after long workouts. It generally doesn't have much to do with whether I'm dehydrated, hydrated, or overhydrated. It simply has everything to do with your sweat evaporating effectively and the salt from the sweat remaining on your clothes.
I don't worry about it. I weigh myself before and after long training sessions to determine how well I've hydrated and how much fluid I need to replace. I think the general rule is in the neighborhood of 8 oz of fluid for each lb. of weight lost during exercise. I also take endurolytes to keep from becoming hyponatremic.
In short, there's nothing "wrong" with you. Just make sure you are staying hydrated, and keep working hard! |
