Stage 1 was mostly solid rolling hills from 3-5% with a good number in the 6-8% range. The weather was hot, there was fairly strong wind, mostly headwinds, for the whole day and road condition varied from highway standard to quite rough.

Quite a lot of walking and a post ride rub down.


A lack of leg strength.

I have no idea what the "Mental effort level:" and "Physical effort level:" below mean.

For me the stage took absolute concentration but this is because I can't see the road condition more than 3m in front of my bike. Any loss of focus would be certain injury or worse.

Physically, stage 1 took everything I had to give. I can honestly say there was nothing in the tank at the end.


If you want a solid challenge this is a good one.
