Subject: Alligators... ... thats what I swim like.
I just saw a depressing video of myself swimming, in which it became clear that I swim like an alligator. Not in the sense of being fearsome and commanding respect, but in the sense that, my legs seem to thrash from side to side as I go.
Are there any drills anyone can suggest to reduce that? The lifeguard on deck (who happened to be a swim teacher also ) suggested focusing more on 'engaging the core', but it is unclear what exactly that means. I'm not a terribly slow swimmer (usually about 7minutes/400yds in sprint tris ) but I do feel my form is poor, especially seeing myself on video. |
