Subject: Ideas for things to do at Grand Canyon - North Rim
My wife and I will be at the Grand Canyon next week.

We are doing a one day rafting trip and then headed to the North Rim for a few days. We are giong to ride the mules down into the Canyon and another day go to Utah and ride Mountain Bikes.

We will have about 2 days to relax and explore around the North Rim.

Any suggestions?

I've been to both the north and south rims, and honestly, other than hike down into the canyon, there isn't a whole lot to do on the north side.  If you're staying in Page AZ, you could take a trip over to Glen Canyon Dam which is just up the road and go on a tour of the hydro electric plant.  It's not as large as Hoover Dam, but still pretty impressive.  You could also rent a boat or possibly a jet ski and go out on Lake Powell.  Check some of the Marinas in the area of Page.

I'll be hiking down into the canyon during the 3rd week in September, and also heading up to Zion National Park in Utah for a few days of hiking there as well.
