Run
Comments: I felt great on the first run and was SOOO excited to be doing my first Du! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Run to bike transition was pretty easy even though I don't have any yanks or anything on my shoes. Not too hard to find a HOT PINK bike in transition! :) What would you do differently?: Nothing, was sooo excited to do first "official" transition. Bike
Comments: My only observation is I have to get comfortable drinking on the bike. I had a water bottle on the bike but I didn't want to slow down and grab it. I knew I could get away with just drinking in transition, but no so on a longer bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Again a easy transition from bike to run. Took my time, drank some water. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I had too much water in transition, was sloshing in my tummy! Luckily the stomach was not upset, just noisy :) The run was fine, I felt stronger the longer I ran. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Does running around telling everyone you know that you just finished your first Du count as a warm-down? What limited your ability to perform faster: The stairs! :) Event comments: I was thrilled to do my first Du and won first place for 1st timers (overall - I beat the guys too :)). Had I actually been racing in my age group I would have taken third so I can't complain. At the awards ceremony I ALSO won a trip to Bahamas and I hope I can go!!! Last updated: 2006-08-21 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:30 drove an hour to race site. Ate a granola bar on the way to the race.
