  • 12m 26s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 40s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim could have been better.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on my navigation and sighting!!!
Transition 1
  • 04m 30s
Comments:

Slow transition times, bc i never practiced them.
What would you do differently?:

Need to make times faster. Almost 5 minutes is way too slow.
Bike
  • 58m 39s
  • 16 miles
  • 16.37 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike portion was good, for not stressing it. I could have gone a little faster but I wasn't sprinting, just going pretty comfortable.
What would you do differently?:

Have a little faster pace.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
Comments:

Could have faster transition time, but never practiced so.
What would you do differently?:

Get faster bc I don't change my shoes, just need to take off helmet, put on bib number, and drink some water.
Run
  • 26m 14s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 15s  min/km
Comments:

Need to work on my running, would run, then take breaks and walk. But wasn't sprinting the run, so considering; not bad.
What would you do differently?:

Run at a consistent speed instead of stopping to walk.
Post race
Warm down:

I walked around a little. I should have warmed down more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I didn't want to stress my body since it was my first triathlon.

Event comments:

The course was somewhat hilly, especially on the bike course. Once you passed that portion though, the rest was nice and downhill. It was a great, beautiful sunny day for September. For my first triathlon, there was nothing more I could have asked for. The awards were amazing and location was very pretty. Thanks to all the volunteers, SetUpEvents for the VERY organized event, and my family and friends for coming to support me! :)

When I told my husband that I planned to work toward completing a sprint triathlon, he smiled and was supportive, but a bit disbelieving.

This plan is designed to make you go faster. 3 workouts per week in each sport, 2 days of strength training and core work. The maximum volume is around 10 hours toward the end of the 12 weeks.

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!

If you haven’t done any bricks yet, this isn’t the time to start piling them on, but here are some examples you could do in the lead up to your race.

Since your “A” race is your marathon, which you stated in your question, this should be your main focus. I encourage you to taper a bit for the sprint distance triathlon.

Since I didn't have much time and since it's a super sprint, am I OK just go to at the training relatively hard through Thursday or even Friday?
