Comments:

Pouring down rain the entire time. Paced myself for five miles, so didn't run all out at the beginning and burn myself out.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push a little harder to cut 15 seconds off and get right under one hour. But, very happy with this run.
Post race
Warm down:

Changed into dry clothes and watched the awards ceremony.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Legs, hips. The usual.

Event comments:

My goal had been to run this race in one hour, and I accomplished that.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had luck with moving to a five-stroke breathing pattern. Is this okay for endurance swimming? What are its benefits and drawbacks?

I’ve signed up to do the St. Anthony’s Olympic Triathlon in April. I will be 49 in May and need some advice on a good training program to fit into my full time work schedule.
