Comments: At 7mins/mile average for the whole race I must have slowed down to about 7:30/mile for the last 2 miles. Not a good baseline but I guess I have to start somewhere. I should be cruising at around 6-6:20/mile. What would you do differently?: I think I could have pushed it smidge harder and not died. It was still a good measure with the temperatures and the course being a good baseline. Post race
Warm down: None. Banana and water after the race. HR normalized pretty quick. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just the extra 8-10 pounds I'm carrying and the lack of consistent training. I have been doing a lot better so I think I can get pretty close to old form in a couple of months. Event comments: Placed again so I'm 2 for 2 so far this year in Florida. I have to take some solace in that considering my training is about a year and a half in the hole. It's good to still be competitive in my age group. Lots of people at this race and everyone was out to have a good time. I hope I contributed to the overall positive attitude out there today. Last updated: 2015-03-05 12:00 AM

Got to the event with plenty of time, walked around and checked out the vendor tents. Good turnout for an inaugural event.
Nothing. Just sat on the lawn and waited for the final countdown announcements.
