Pre-race routine:

Doubled, so had some trepidation and stayed in bed as long as I could.
Drank breakfast Go Juice while showering, then got going.
No music on way to parking. Put on Sunscreen on way and laid out everything.
Parked in usual spot, finished loading jersey pockts, got ready and walked to Start. Dropped off after bag and got in my wave with less than 2 minutes to go. Perfect.
Event warmup:

Warmed up by walking almost the whole the way to Hydro St and hit it in 19:xx minutes, or exactly the speed I wanted to.

Comments:

Slow to top. Slower even than last year which was slowest ever. Double took it's toll in the legs. Lungs were fine, jooking and talking the whole way up, but couldn't go any faster. Well, not entiredly true. Got behind some folks who could not go faster. had a LEAST a half mile back to anyone, but several caught us anyway, that's how slow we were going stopping and waiting for EVERY last downhill runner, even those 20ft away. Pretty dissapointed when I started down.
Did math and was surprised to still have a Mathematical chance to get my 9Hour goal. Wished I had an extra 5-10mins to work with, but got going, and kept going. Passed lots of folks walking lower down and kept trucking. Told myself and others I don't get much chance to run- so true. Also told myselft I might not run until next year, and had Monday off.
So blasted for 3 Hours down.

Warm down:

Did not make it to the post race Pizza and Beer. Only got across Road to Bridge and into Creek. Then Wife brought Van and away we went.
Whole lower body in icy Creek is the ultimate.
