Subject: Finally!!
After a 2-week delay in starting this triathlon training, thanks to a head injury I sustained at the end of July (I thought I was ready but I wasn't), I can NOW START TRAINING! Woo-hoo!

Wed. 8/30 I begin with the "overweight" beginner training plan from this wonderful site.

Thanks to EVERYONE who supported me when I first signed on here, and I will begin training/posting my log, etc. and visiting these forums (fora?) quite often!

Ta ta for now

Just start slow and build up gradually.

Welcome aboard!

Was it the head injury that made you decide to try a triathlon?  Sane people certainly wouldn't do this voluntarily

Bad joke... I hope you're fine now (sounds like it) and excited about your program.  I'm 5 weeks in and enjoying every minute of it!

Do you really want to look like a middle-aged guy?

Hmmm, not sure if that is better than looking like the middle aged woman that I am!!!

But I'll try anything once.

Omigod your kids are so cute.

What made me decide to do a triathlon is waking up one day and saying to myself, I am SICK AND TIRED of being fat, eating wrong, and sitting on the sidelines.

About a week later I slipped ON A TOY and smashed face-first into my son's doorway, getting a huge lump on my forhead in the process.

Beauteous shiners two days later, though, I must admit. They took THREE WEEKS to fade. Yikes! I know what a boxer feels like...okay, maybe not.

Anyway...I am THRILLED to be joining the ranks of the insane!

Thanks!
