My first trail race, it's single track, lots of roots, rocks, a creek crossing....all kinds of fun. Got a pretty good pace going and just held it. My running partner was able to get up a hill better than I did and remained about a minute ahead for the rest for the race. 20th out of 50 ppl. They also offered a 14 and 31 mile race.

Warm down:

My running partner and I sat in the tailgate of my SUV and drank a beer :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My fat ass :)

Event comments:

Good race, organized and on time. Limited field due to the restrictions of the state park. Will definitely do this race again.

The first time I ventured into the deep murky green lake and could not see the bottom my muscles tensed and my imagined fears surfaced. What exactly lies beneath?

The schedule consists of at least 3 workouts per week in each sport, 2 days of strength training and core work too. Most weeks have 4 days of cycling. The maximum volume is 14 hours in week 5.

Enter the new TYR X-Sight goggles. The X-Sights have been designed with a flexible nose bridge that (surprise, surprise) is shaped like an “X”.
