Originally posted by edawno I was looking at the bike course posted on the Ironman site. Is that the old one or a new one. It has been a while since i looked, but it does not look the same to me as it did a couple months ago. I could be wrong.

It's the same map. I printed out the courses way back when I signed up and compared the two.

YAY! I just saw that, too! Seems to be a new course but not released yet. At least we have one!

IMTX revised the bib number list a few days ago. I was 2833 and now 2858. FYI in case you didn't catch it.

WTF!!! I have already received my Tats for the race. I guess I have to spend another $15.00 on the new set? Sounds like a money making ripoff. Thanks for the info. Tri Tats essentially doubles their money every time they switch numbers. Going to make some calls.

It was TRITATS that let me know. I ordered my number and received the wrong one. When I contacted them they told me the numbers had changed right before my order was placed and ask me to double check. They were correct.

TriTats has outstanding customer service. I contacted them, and they are sending out the updated numbers, at no charge. They said they have never seen Ironman do this before.

An email I received yesterday:

Dear IRONMAN Athletes,
Everyone at IRONMAN would like to thank you once again for your patience regarding the uncertainty with the 2016 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN North American Championship Texas bike course. While we had finalized details for a new approved 112-mile bike course late last week, the severe storms that brought devastating and unfortunate heavy rains and flooding in the Houston area have greatly impacted portions of that plan.

Residents as well as regional public safety and emergency service agencies are working to recover from these storms. As cleanup efforts continue, a significant part of the intended route in Harris County and specifically the Spring Creek Greenway was found to have washed away during the flooding. Due to the late occurrence of this severe weather impact and inability to find additional mileage, a 94-mile bike course will be used on race day. An updated map with turn-by-turn information is available here and a FAQ is available here.

We understand the disappointment and frustration you may have; please know that both IRONMAN and local officials have worked tirelessly in the aftermath of the public emergency to provide the best and safest race route possible given the circumstances.

The bike course still represents a tremendous challenge worthy of the IRONMAN experience. Minor adjustments will continue to be made to the course leading into race day, so please monitor the event website for updates.

We look forward to seeing you all on May 14 in The Woodlands!

What a day!! Anyone know if results posted on Ironman.com are the official times with the rain delay or not? My Garmin died on the bike and I have no idea of my run time.

My times on IM Results, have been adjusted for the delay. Within a couple of minutes of my Garmin, which I stopped and started with the delay. Congrats on your finish.

My results on the IM website show a little over 12min more on the run than what my Garmin marathon time was. i had a great race either way. I would have hated to be competing for a slot to Kona and had to have stopped.

I only stopped long enough to figure out that nobody knew what was going on (about 2 minutes talking to volunteers according to my garmin). Looks like I haven't been credited those minutes (not that I care) because it's not obvious that I stopped at all.

Congrats on finishing guys!

I was in a group of about 200-300 or more that was stopped and held in some trees for 30-40 minutes. A small group of us huddled in a group hug just to stay warm. Some people were shivering uncontrollably. After that long it was PAINFUL to start running again. I sent an email to Ironman today and ask them to please consider adjusting my run time. Here's my run split I copied off their live tracking page yesterday. It wouldn't really be a big deal for me but my Garmin died on the bike and I really don't have anything else to go by. And, if I order one of those finisher plaques they pull your time from the results. And lastly, the rain delay I experienced will move my AG rank from 95th to near 70th.

Monty, go back and check again. They have adjusted my time without me even asking. I was standing in the same group of trees on my last lap!!
Great job on your finish!

I was not an official; I simply observed the race and the officials doing their thing. Here is what I saw:
