Race Day: 2:00 PM start, Delta, OH. Drove 150 miles each way.. Great day! Sunny, warm, strong northerly winds. One RCS and one Mito approx one hour before start of race; think they helped today. Drank about 1/2 of my 10oz bottle with one scoop of SE. Did not drink much early in the race (no porta-johns on the course because of high winds.) Drank more frequently the 2nd half of race.
One gel at mile 4 1/4. Walked very briefly after passing thru the 5 mile mark timing pads. Pretty much a flat course except for the four overpass turnpike crossings; tough especially heading North into the winds. Pleased that I was able to maintain my pace today. Ran this race once before in 2014; my race pace then was about 8:28 per mile

Congrats!!! Love this race. I was out there yesterday, who thought you would have to worry about heat and humidity in January!
