Swim
Comments: Passed several people, got passed once. What would you do differently?: Flip-turns, maybe. Focus on swim drills. face down, stroke around the barrel, rotate Transition 1
Comments: Little slow. Cool morning. Took time to wipe down with a towel. Wore long sleeve bike jacket. Sat down to put on socks and shoes. What would you do differently?: Less stuff in pockets. Bike
Comments: Trouble clipping in out of transition, but after that was fine for first half. Steep hill half-way through. Dismounted and walked the bike up it. Got back into it at the top. Bombed the downhill, 38 mph!! What would you do differently?: More hill training. Up the cadence. More Aero. Lose weight. Less stuff in pockets. More drinking Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Less stuff in pockets. Leave a drink open. Keep it simple. Run
Comments: Walk/jogged almost the whole run. Legs were dead from the bike. Good kick at the end for a last second pass. What would you do differently?: More bricks. More running. Less clothing. Less stuff in pockets Post race
Warm down: Walked around finish. Ate some breakfast tacos. Compression socks. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too much stuff in pockets of bike jersey. First race. Event comments: Good beginner race. Swim was well organized and went pretty smooth. Bike is mostly flat, with one steep hill at far end. Run was pretty flat. Lots of volunteers and traffic control.
