World population is currently at 7.5 billion with a growth rate of 1.11%. Projected population shows us at 11.2 billion by 2100 (83 years from now).

This is a 50% increase in human population! 11.2 billion little CO2 producing machines running 24/7/365. You will also need a proportional increase in in the number of CO2 producing cows, chicken and pigs to feed the additional mouths.

Tring to stop climate change by reducing our CO2 emissions is like bailing seawater from the Titanic with a Bama Jelly jar.

IMO we are whistling thru the graveyard if we think we can collectively change the ways of 7.5 billion people! Whatever happens on the planet is inevitable. My thinking is we need to focus our resources on how to adapt to living in the changing world. Figure out how we can live on or under the ocean!

Back to Titanic.....Mr Andrews, engineer: "The pumps buy you time, but minutes only. From this moment, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder."

Cheers! Y'all have a great weekend. Try not to drink too much. ;-)

Very good point about the population bloom.  We're definitely using a lot more resources today than we were a few hundred years ago even if we forget about oil.

I always chuckle at the "living underwater" type stuff because it's laughable from a scientific standpoint.  The earth warmed approximately 1°C last century and the gloom and boomers are predicting another 1°-2°C increase this century (which we're waaaaay behind on btw).  Did NYC flood and the entire world go under water with the last century warming?  Of course not, and it's not going to happen this century either.  Sure there will be some sea wall erosion and increase of sea level by a few millimeters.  woohoo

We're already adapting and it's been quite easy.  We'll continue to adapt and it will continue to be quite easy.
