Has anyone had success running with "medial unloader" brace?

I am looking for feedback from anyone who has tried running with a "medial unloader" brace for their knee due to loss of cartilage or arthritis? Due to multiple injuries on my knee the brace has been suggested to keep running and avoid more surgery. The feedback is mixed so I am curious if anyone has used a brace successfully and if so what brand was the brace? Thanks- Rob
